Safer beaches with a new digital public address system
The beaches and coves of Salou are safer with the implementation of a new digital public address system that replaces the analogue one that was previously in place. With the new system, bathers and users of the Camino de Costa (Camino de Ronda) will be able to access information in real time and communicate with the Local Police in case of emergency.

The journalist and presenter of TV3's Telenotícies weekend, Ramon Pellicer, will be in charge of presenting the grand opening gala that Salou City Council is preparing to officially start the events of Salou Capital of Catalan Culture 2025. The programme of activities for the entire year will be announced on 27 February.
The Costa Daurada, candidate for Best Beach Destination National Geographic Travel
The Costa Daurada is one of the five candidates for Best Beach Destination in Spain among which readers of National Geographic Travel can vote. Voting can be done through the magazine's website until February 21, 2025. The winning destination will be announced in the printed magazine on April 22.

Salou begins to act as Capital of Catalan Culture 2025
On January 26, 2025, Salou officially began to act as Capital of Catalan Culture 2025, after taking over from Sabadell, which held the title during 2024. From this moment on, Salou is the cultural reference point of Catalonia and has 12 months ahead to strengthen its cultural role in various areas such as heritage, history, popular and traditional culture, and in different artistic expressions.
Salou lights up a crocheted Christmas tree
Salou has joined the crochet trend this Christmas and has released a Christmas tree made of 300 colorful squares covering a 3.20 meter high iron structure. The initiative has been made possible thanks to the association Grup de Dones de Salou, which has had the collaboration of the City Council and several merchants in the area.

Tourist train of Salou
One of the tourist attractions in Salou is the 'trenet' or tourist train, a train that transits through the main attractions of the capital of the Costa Dorada.

Salou has a long history, not only because of the Iberian remains (town of La Cella) or Romans (villa de Barenys) that can be visited but also because it has Population Charter since 1194.
