Weekend with pets in Salou
Salou. Costa Dorada. 23 March 2023. The Tourist Board and the Salou City Council propose a weekend of activities to enjoy with pets, the Pet-Friendly weekend on March 25 and 26, 2023. This proposal aims to promote the capital of the Costa Dorada as a destination with services and proposals for families traveling with their pets.
The Pet-Friendly Salou weekend consists of the following activities:
Saturday March 25, 2023
- At 10 a.m., in the sports area of Llevant beach, the Golden Fran Association promotes a meeting of dog-adopter families.
- At 12 noon, a walk along the Camino de Ronda in Salou has been organized with the professional dog trainer Víctor Torres. The departure is from Chalet Torremar, headquarters of the Tourist Board. Pre-registration is required at this link.
Sunday March 26, 2023
Pet-Friendly space with free admission in the Plaza de las Comunitats Autònomes, with the following activities organized by Les Set Cabretes, Refugi d'Animals de Granja:
- Starting at 10:30 a.m., paint animal faces
- Starting at 12:30 p.m., Pet-Friendly gymkhana
- At 11 am, exhibition of the Canine Unit of the Local Police of Salou, also in the Plaza de las Comunidades Autónomas, in the same Pet-Friendly Space.
The Pet-Friendly weekend is also the last activity in the Salou winter calendar, Beach all year round, which proposes different activities to enjoy the beach this time of year in the capital of the Costa Dorada. The objective is to deseasonalize the tourist season and diversify the tourist offer of the municipality.
In the presentation of the Salou destination Pet-Friendly campaign, the mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, explained that "we are committed to Pet-Friendly tourism, so that Salou is also an appropriate and suitable destination for those families who travel with your pet", and added that "it represents a new step forward to consolidate ourselves as a benchmark for inclusive tourism, the work of adaptation and incorporation of services for the needs and demands of a diversity of visitors and facilitate their stay, since it is part of the deseasonalization challenge”.
In addition, Mayor Pere Granados, accompanied by the Councilor for Animal Defense and Protection, Beatriz Morer, have placed the "Salou Pet-Friendly" sign on the main door of the Town Hall. The Councilor for Economic Dynamization, Hèctor Maiquez, was also present.
