The historic Casablanca hotel in Salou, an establishment located on the seafront and at the same time in the urban core of the capital of the Costa Dorada, with 35 years of history and 63 rooms, was acquired this past May by the 4R hotel group which, despite the difficulties of this season, works with the aim of continuing to diversify its hotel plant on the Costa Dorada.
Grupo 4R has a presence in Salou, l'Hospitalet de l'Infant and in Calafell - Coma-ruga with eight four and three star hotels. The group, a family business based on the Costa Dorada, also manages two restaurants and in its establishments pays special attention to the gastronomic section. As for the 4R Casablanca Playa, it is one of the few hotels in Salou that stays open throughout the year and is managed by Quim Diaz and, by the stove, by chef Alberto Urdax.
Sea, large terrace and relaxation
The terrace of the Hotel 4R Casablanca Playa is located a few meters from the sea and constitutes a watchtower from which you can see both the movement of vehicles, cyclists, pedestrians and skaters who parade ahead as well as the sand, Ponent beach and the sea. It is in this environment that the hotel offers an à la carte restaurant service (phone 977 380 107) at an average price of 25-30 euros, including a varied assortment of tapas and starters followed by rice dishes, including other gastronomic classics of its kind. fresh and mediterranean cuisine.
The establishment also offers, in its interior dining room, a daily menu consisting of 5 first and two seconds to choose from for 14.5 euros. The terrace is also open for an aperitif or a drink.
The objective, according to Xavier Roig, manager of the 4R Group, “is that a hotel client can enjoy the beach and their vacation days in the way they prefer while we take care of guaranteeing a pleasant and safe stay complemented by a kitchen. of high quality ”.
For his part, Quim Díaz, director of the hotel, highlights that «despite the extraordinary situation that we all know, the 4R Casablanca Playa guarantees an open space, well defined and where security is part of the comfort and well-being that we want to transmit so much residents of Salou as well as tourists from the Costa Dorada ”.
For its part, the 4R Group plans to partially remodel the Casablanca hotel in the coming months, following the policy of constant maintenance and modernization of its facilities, even and despite a tourist season markedly altered by a pandemic that, despite everything, it will soon be history.
