Municipal recognition of Deliranto for its Michelin star
Salou. Costa Dorada. 01 December 2019. On behalf of the City Council of Salou, the mayor, Pere Granados, accompanied by the Councilor for Economic Dynamization, Héctor Maiquez, has delivered a plaque of recognition to chef Pep Moreno, of the Deliranto restaurant, for the Michelin star recently obtained in Seville. Deliranto is the first to receive this distinction in Salou.
In the act of delivering the plaque, the mayor said that the distinction "is the assessment of the work done for a long time and a professional who sees the kitchen from a totally creative point of view." He added that the distinction becomes "the prize for the career of the chef and his entire team; it enhances the cuisine of Salou and makes it possible for the municipality to be included in the Michelin star route". For the mayor, "the jump is very important" and highlights "the profound change in the scope of the city's gastronomic offer, with excellent professionals and very good establishments, with creative kitchens and competitive prices."
For his part, the Councilor for Economic Dynamization, Héctor Maiquez, has valued very positively the entrepreneurial work of Pep Moreno at the head of the Association of Hospitality Entrepreneurs of Salou (AEH Salou) and has said that "with his generosity and drive we will achieve that our municipality is a good reference for gastronomy on the Costa Dorada. "
Chef Pep Moreno has thanked the municipal recognition and stressed that "we will continue working hard and doing things the best we know. We have been given a prize for the work done in 2019. If we all work the same, we all join and we all we help sure that the tourist destination will benefit and the restaurant and the restoration of our area will be better valued ".
Moreno has pointed out that "we are part of a common project integrated by the Regente Aragón Hotel, Cook & Travel and Deliranto as a visible head of haute cuisine; and our wish for next year would be the mention in the Michelin Guide for Cook & Travel ".
Deliranto restaurant (c. Levante, 7) fuses culinary art with artistic creation. Diners go into traditional stories and stories, such as Alice in Wonderland and The Little Prince, among others, while enjoying a unique dining experience and becoming children for a few hours. "People get excited and share some time with us, while being carried away by their most childish part," explained chef Pep Moreno.
