The musical season fro mCaixaforum brings rhythms of Africa and Turkey to Tarragona
Tarragona. Costa Dorada. The musical season of winter in 2011 that consists of three concerts, as usual, will be featuring artists and ensembles of great quality that occupy its place in the music scene today. On this occasion, the program offers three attractive proposals from various world music traditions. Open cycle superb trio of klezmer music, klezmer Trivium, fresh and original with a show that brings tremendous energy, good humor and spirit at times melancholy and often characterizes this festive tradition. For his part, Mamadou Diabaté, one of the most renowned kora players of today, we carry the lovely sounds of his music to one of the richest and most compelling traditions of the planet, Mali. Finally, the Turkish virtuoso lutenist Yurdal Tokcan Istanbul and its prestigious collection brings us Sazendeleri Turkish classical music of the past and present, in order to reveal some of their secrets and sharing the subtle beauty of the music of refined sultans. The concerts of the musical season of winter Obra Social "la Caixa" will take place at CaixaForum Tarragona on Saturday 19 February, 12 March and 9 April 2011, at 20:00. Start the season Trivium Klezmer musical group (19 February), who will present the show Klezmorim. Formed by experienced musicians who have participated in numerous musical projects, the set is a magnificent trio of klezmer music that weaves a versatile and sophisticated game with the clarinet timbre il'acordió. His concerts are full of passion, energy and frenetic pace, and seek to recover the melancholic nature, unpredictable and festive of Jewish folk music. Klezmorim is a fresh and original show that combines the best and most evocative Jewish music tradition with the freedom of jazz, joy and vitality of the music of the Balkans and the warm aromas and tasty Mediterranean. Altogether, spiced with humor and some hints of cinematic atmosphere. The second concert will be led by Mamadou Diabaté (12 March), whom many call the wizard of the kora, a harp sounds crystal clear and lovely, emblematic of the music of West Africa. Originally from Mali and resident in the United States, Mamadou Diabaté comes from a distinguished lineage of griots dating back to the thirteenth century. Player recognized in 2010 received a Grammy for best world music album for his latest work, Douga Mansa. Accompanied by a group of outstanding instrumentalists, makes a poignant and original music creates a very special atmosphere in which the excitement of sharing the treasure of tradition combined with a refined sensibility to recreate one of the world's most beautiful music. In the last concert, the set Sazendeleri from Istanbul (April 9) will take the beautiful arrangements and exquisite aromas of Turkish instrumental music, producing music of the sultans. Directed by one of the best-Yurdal Tokcan lutenist of his country and one of the foremost in the world, Istanbul is a Sazendeleri reference group in the interpretation of Turkish classical music of the past and present, which presents us with a careful balance between tradition and innovation. Made up of talented musicians, the group was created with the aim of introducing the public into the secrets of a sophisticated and beautiful music before reserved for only the elite of the court. After acting in numerous countries worldwide, the group gives us the opportunity to enjoy this repertoire in his first tour in Spain.
