Cambrils is meeting with the director of the Catalan Tourism
Cambrils. Costa Dorada. The mayor of Cambrils, Merce Dalmau, Councillor for Tourism, Xavier Martin, and the Director of Tourism, Amelia Rico, met this afternoon with the director of the Catalan Tourism, Xavier Espasa, and marketing director, Jordi Secall. Some of the topics discussed during the meeting were the promotional activities aimed at the final scheduled for the 2012 Madrid, Spain and northern France, the certification of family tourism has Cambrils since 2007 and the ongoing efforts to get the seal of sports tourism, the tourist profile of Cambrils, the second homes. The meeting also served to discuss the marketing plan that is finalizing the Catalan Tourism and the possibility that next year Cambrils can add a senior tourism project promoted by the Government. Finally, the mayor and the director of the Agency have discussed expanding markets such as Russia (with a potential of 12 million people can travel) and Ukraine (with a potential three million) and the actions that s' operators are organizing aimed at these audiences. The Russian tourist, who likely will grow between 10 and 15% this year, represents 14% of foreign tourism in Cambrils and are especially in hotel occupancy because 23% of foreigners staying in hotels in Cambrils are Russians. Meanwhile, the French are still the first foreign tourist market in Cambrils, with 30% of global foreign, but most opt for campsites and apartments.
